parkdekentje

Mijn tante vroeg mij enkele weken terug of ik een dekentje kon maken om in mijn klein nichtje haar park te leggen. Met plezier wou ik dat doen! Toen vorige week mijn nieuwe boekjes thuis kwamen, wou ik net iets meer doen dan een katoentje en een fleece tegen elkaar te stikken.
Dus zocht ik in mijn grote kist met stofjes achter allerlei restjes stof en maakte ik er iets leuks van, al zeg ik het zelf!

My aunt asked me a couple of weeks ago to make a ledikant for my little cousin to put in her crib. Ofcourse I wouldn't mind doing that! But when I got my new booklets, I decided I would like to do just a bit more than stitch some cotton to some fleece.
So I decided to turn my big chest of fabrics around, looking for all kinds of fabric pieces. I made something nice out of it! Even if I say so myself.

laat nieuwjaarscadeau

Met kerstdag kreeg ik een héél mooi cadeau van mijn schoonma. Namelijk het boek Tout un monde en couture pour nos petits lutins van Anne Alletto.
Nu kocht ik er de kleine schattige boekjes ook nog bij als extra cadeautjes voor mezelf! Haar tekeningen zijn zo mooi! en het frans is gemakkelijk genoeg om te kunnen volgen. Voor de echt moeilijke woorden gebruiken we gewoon Google translate...

On Christmasday I got a very beautiful gift from my mother-in-law. I got the book Tout un monde en couture pour nos petits lutins written by Anne Alletto.
Now I bought myself the small booklets as an extra gift for myself! I really really love her drawings and although the booklets are in French, it's easy to follow. For the real difficult worlds, we always have google translate...

Nu weer ideeën genoeg om achter de naaimachine te kruipen!

oudejaar

Oudejaar mag dan wel al een week geleden zijn, de herinneringen zitten nog vers in ons geheugen! Het concept was hetzelfde als vorig jaar, maar we krikten het wat op. Dit keer maakten we er een verkleedfeestje van. Zonder thema, want we waren bang dat we anders allemaal als hetzelfde gingen komen.

It's been a week since New Years Eve, but the memories are still fresh! The concept was the same as last year, but we made it a bit better. This time we had a dress up party. Without a theme, because we were afraid that we would all be dressed the same. 

Ons idee kwam redelijk vlug. Het Woepje als the Joker en ik als Harley Quinn. Maar een deftig kostuum vinden, dat was andere koek. Voor het Woepje konden we ten rade gaan bij de buren, die vorig jaar als the Joker naar FACTS gingen. Ik wilde iets feestelijk voor mij, niet het strakke latex pak en niet de nieuwe hoerige versie. Dus uiteindelijk ging ik de maandag voor oudejaar stof gaan kopen, om de dinsdag een kleed te maken

Our idea came fast: Woepje would go as the Joker and I would go as Harley Quinn. But finding a good costume was something different! We asked the neighbours  for Woepjes costume, since they went as the Joker to FACTS last year. I wanted something to go party for me, not the latex suit Harley wears in the animated series and not the whore version. So eventually I bought fabric Monday 29th of December and made a dress on Tuesday.

Het patroon komt uit het boek: love at first stitch van Tilly Walnes. Ik kreeg het van een ouder op het afscheidsfeestje van de crèche in oktober. Nu ik weet dat de patronen in mijn maat komen en dat ze zo goed zitten, ga ik ze nog meer maken! Ik ga zeker nog goeie stof gaan kopen om dit kleedje opnieuw te maken, maar dan om alle dagen te dragen!

the pattern comes from the book: love at first stitch from Tilly Walnes. It got it as a present from one of the parents in October. Now that I know that the patterns come in my size and that they fit incredibly I'll make way more from that book! I'm going to buy myself good fabric to remake this dress, but then for everyday use!

cadeau voor baby

In februari wordt mijn Woepje peter. Dus met kerst waren er ook voor baby cadeautjes! Ik maakte een handig verschoningsmatje om mee te nemen, waarbij ik twee tutorials combineerde. En een knisperdoekje.

My Woepje is going to be a godfather in February. So we also had Christmasgifts for baby. I made a baby changing mat for on the go. I combined 2 tutorials so I got a cute mat. And a  cracklytoy.

er is een zakje voor extra pampers en eentje voor natte doekjes. Plus, je kan het badstoffendoekje afnemen om eenvoudig te wassen. De rest van het matje is gemaakt uit gelamineerd katoen. Dus makkelijk afwasbaar.

It has 2 pockets. One for extra diapers and one for wipes. Plus, you can take the terry cloth towel off so you can easy wash it.  the rest of the mat is made out of laminated cotton. So it's easily washable.

Kerstkleedje...

Met kerst had ik een zelfgemaakt kleedje aan. Officieel mijn tweede, maar eigenlijk wel mijn mooiste. Plus het was in tricot stof gemaakt, dus dat vond ik ook al heel wat!

On Christmasyday I wore a handmade dress. Officially it's the second dress that I made myself, but it was my most beautiful one. Plus, it's made out of jersey fabric. So that's a victory i think!

Dit is hoe het er (bijna afgewerkt) uitzag. Hier moest ik wel nog de mouwen en de onderrand omzomen.

Gelukkig nieuwjaar!!!

Het Woepje en ik wensen jullie allemaal een hééél erg gelukkig nieuwjaar, waarbij we hopen dat al jullie wensen mogen uitkomen, dat de mooie momenten uit 2014 mogen overtroffen worden door NOG mooiere momenten in 2015 en (zoals mijn broer het zo mooi kan uitdrukken) dat de enige tranen die van ajuinen mogen zijn!

Woepje and I wish everybody a happy New year!!! We hope that all your wishes may come true, that the beautiful moments of 2014 will be outshined by the even MORE beautiful moments in 2015 and (like my brother describes it so beautiful) that the only tears you shed are the ones comming from cutting up onions!
